I know there probably aren’t too many people local to me who’ll end up reading this, but I thought I’d do a little free promotion for the paper. This is the text of a callout that’s been running in the past couple of editions:
Express is seeking couples with weddings or commitment ceremonies occurring in the next six months for a new column that will feature couple profiles. Please send your favorite informal photo (wacky is fine, professionally shot is not), plus your name, contact info and the ceremony date to weddings@readexpress.com. Then we’ll contact you with some questions. Not everyone who sends in a picture can be in the paper — sorry! Also, please don’t send any original photos via snail-mail, because we can’t return them.
The column is the work of Holly Morris and Kristen Page-Kirby, part of the paper’s Features team, and it’s apparently a big hit: I just created the email account like a week ago, and it’s already getting dozens of submissions. If you’re local and engaged, by all means, send in a photo! (No, I don’t get to see them, so don’t worry.)
